Who we are

Africa Foundation Stone (AFS) was founded in February 2000. It is a response the barriers faced by the community of Waltham Forest

These barriers included language problems, lack of employable skills and experience, lack of positive role models and difficulties in family life, which also negatively affected the attempts of children from other countries in adapting to life in the UK.

The aim of AFS was therefore to create a holistic approach to social integration for people of African descent and other minority communities experiencing similar problems in Waltham Forest and in London.

Africa Foundation Stone is an established charity organization based in the London borough of Waltham Forest managing projects in the United Kingdom (UK) and overseas.

In the UK, AFS is working in partnership with local authorities and educational institutions providing a range of services to tackle underachievement and exclusion in primary and secondary schools, unemployment and crime aimed at different sections of the community. AFS is working in partnership with local schools, local authorities, education and social providers.
